Build a Better World: Sign the Amherst Declaration on Global Citizenship

Dear Friend,   The Amherst Declaration of Global Citizenship is a statement of the values and principles for the growing number of people around the world who view themselves as global citizens (in addition to being citizens of their countries). It reflects a felt need for an expression of identity on behalf of those of us who want to build an emerging values-based world community.   The Declaration was launched by The Global Citizens’ Initiative (TGCI) a non-profit international organization that brings people and organizations together to help build a sustainable world community. Earth Action is an organizational co-sponsor of the Declaration.   The drafters of the Declaration seek to have one thousand people or more from every country in in the world sign the Declaration (i.e. an estimated 200,000 people from countries around the world). It will then be presented to the heads of G 20 countries, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and other world leaders.   If you would like to sign the Declaration, please click on the link at the bottom of this letter and it will take you through a short e-signature process. If your organization wishes to become a co-sponsor, please send us an email and we will arrange to have you listed as a co-sponsoring institution.   We also urge you to post the Declaration in your community, work space, or home, and pass it on to friends and colleagues.
